Why is Markham a great city to live in?
Markham is a city located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. It is known for its diverse population, which represents a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. The city is also home to a number of specialized schools, including the Markham District High School, which has a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, and the Unionville High School, which is known for its fine arts program.
Moreover, Toronto-based York University is constructing a new campus in Markham and planning to start operating in the Spring 2024 semester. In the initial phase, it is expected that the facility will be able to accommodate up to 4,200 students with the capability to expand in the future.
Public transportation is also widely available in Markham. The city is served by the York Region Transit (YRT) system, which provides regular bus service to many parts of Markham. The city is also served by the VIVA bus rapid transit system, which operates along major corridors in the city. In addition to these services, Markham is also served by the GO Transit train system, which provides service to Toronto and other parts of the Greater Toronto Area.
